Introducing Healing Colors

HOW COLORS AFFECT MOOD

I’ve always been a fan of vibrant colors, but sadly, when it comes to picking the “right” color for walls in my homes, well… I do a lot of repainting!

None-the-less, I’ve been wanting to use the power of color to help residents in my adult family homes feel better for a long time, so I am excited to introduce our brand new and exclusive  Healing Colors program.

Scientists have long studied the effects of color on our moods, health, and way of thinking. Even as individual’s preference for one color over another may be related to the way that color makes the individual feel.

According to Dr. Alexander Schauss, director of the American Institute for Biosocial Research, in Tacoma, Washington, when the energy of color (i.e. a color’s wavelength) enters our bodies, it stimulates the pituitary and pineal glands. This in turn affects the production of certain hormones, which in turn affect a variety of physiological processes. This explains why color has been found to have such a direct influence on our thoughts, moods, and behavior. An influence that many experts believe is distinctly separate from psychological and cultural factors. Remarkably, color seems to have an effect even on blind people, who are thought to sense color as a result of energy vibrations created within the body.

The colors you choose for your clothes and for your home, office, car and other surroundings have a profound effect on you. Colors have been known to ease stress, to fill you with energy, and even to alleviate pain and other physical problems. This idea, it should be noted, is far from new. In fact, the concept is part of the ancient Chinese design technique “Feng Shui.”

This new program helps you tap into the healing power of colors by allowing you to customize your room based on your health conditions.

About Spada Care Homes Healing Colors(TM) program

I’ve teamed up with Anne Viggiano, an expert local color and design consultant. Anne custom-created a pallet of colors specifically for Spada Homes, and I’m so happy with the results. As part of this new program, you get:

  • A health and wellness consultation with Joseph Spada, LPN, to review health challenges, establish goals, and help you determine the best colors to achieve the desired results;
  • A special report called “How Colors Affect Mood.” The report explains the power of color, and the effect of specific colors on health and mood. The report is clear, succinct, and informative;
  • Choose from a custom-created color pallet – just pick the color, we’ve done all the work!
  • High quality custom-mixed, no-VOC paint;
  • Preparation and labor to apply the paint;
  • No charge when touch-ups are needed;
  • No charge to remove the paint when you move out.

Over the years, I’ve introduced many “firsts;” In the early 1990’s I started using printed meal menus when no one was doing it. I introduced 24/7 awake staff when the norm was one staff for 24 hours, on call. I introduced the use of organic produce and ingredients when it wasn’t yet a trend. I had Doctors, podiatrists, and dentists coming to Spada Care Homes, eliminating difficult travel. I’ve introduced a Wellness and Health Maintenance program when no one in the industry had ever heard of it.

This Healing Colors program will help our residents benefit from the power of colors, and I’m thrilled to be introducing it.
