Joseph Spada, LPN, CGCP
Founder, Joseph Spada, is a Certified Geriatric Care Provider and geriatric nurse with 30 years extensive background and expertise in long-term care. We call him the "Chief Happiness Officer." Born in Sicily and raised in Geneva Switzerland, Joseph studied geriatric care in one of the wold’s best settings – the University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland. There Joseph served in geriatrics, orthopedics, rehabilitation and emergency room care.
Joseph is the author of the #2 Amazon Best Seller in the elder care category called, “How To Find The Best Adult Family Home Care For Your Elderly Parent” currently available on Amazon. It is the first and only book educating consumers on Adult Family Homes. Joseph approaches his book with an understanding of what care options mean to families, and gracefully guides them on a journey to find quality care.
Joseph is a faculty instructor at North Seattle College where he teaches the State-required "48-hours AFH Administrator Certification" course.
His expertise and guidance to seniors and their families has helped hundred's of seniors make informed decisions with all matters relating to senior care.

Dr. Darrell Owens, DNP
Our Medical Director, Dr. Darrell Owens, is the clinic chief and director of the UW Outpatient Primary Palliative and Supportive Care Program. He has been in practice for over twenty-four years.
He is board certified in adult health/primary care, geriatrics/gerontology primary care, and hospice and palliative medicine. He is a UW clinical assistant professor of medicine and nursing.
Dr. Owens is the founder of the palliative care services at UW Medicine Harborview and Northwest Hospital. In 2012, he was the first nurse practitioner to receive the Cambia Foundation's Sojourn Award for pioneering work in palliative care. He has been selected as a Seattle Met Top Doctor and Nurse for the past three years.
He is a former member of the Commission for the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (appointed by Governor Gregoire), where he chaired the Advance Practice Subcommittee.
In addition to geriatric primary care, Dr. Owens is an international expert in palliative and supportive care. He has published numerous book chapters on palliative care symptom management, and over twenty articles in peer reviewed journals.
Amy Harris, CTRS
We are thrilled and fortunate to have Amy as our Recreational Therapy Director. Amy is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) with fifteen-plus years experience providing recreational activities to seniors with frailty, dementia and other cognitive impairments.
Amy is especially skilled in connecting with people with dementia, and as an accomplished artist and professional illustrator, she bringing a unique sense of creativity to her work. She engages our residents physically, intellectually and emotionally.
Amy's passion and dedication to her work lead her to start an independent project called “The Creative Connections Project.” The project uses recreation therapy to enrich the lives of people with dementia through painting, collage, music, and dance.
Gale Wald, RN
Gale Wald, a long-time Registered Nurse, has experienced a long career at Northwest Hospital in Seattle. She now works has an independent nurse consultant.
Gale does most of our resident assessments, provides nurse delegation to our staff, and covers for other nursing care needs as necessary. Gale adds to Spada Homes' overall level of quality care by providing professional nursing services and consulting.
Angele Aguep (Angela), NA-R
Angela is a Nursing Assistant Registered (NA-R) and joined us at Alicia Park (3621 NE 100th St.) in 2015.
She is caring, attentive and we are thrilled to have her on the team!
In addition to her basic First Aid, CPR, and food handler's permit, Angela also completed Mental Health and Dementia specialty training, nursing delegation and diabetes specialization.

Yvonne is our full time volunteer and she OWNS the kitchen!
After caring for children in a Paris child care center, she discovered her love of caring for seniors at Spada Care Homes in Seattle. Yvonne is a bright light in our home and loved by everyone .

Camelia Moise, NA-C
Camelia is a rare gem in the caregiving world; experienced, skilled, dedicated and kind. Her communication skills are excellent, as is her ability to spot potential health issues early on.
Moreover, Camelia is an outstanding cook, especially when it comes to preparing healthy, tasty and hardy European meals.
Camelia worked for us many years ago, and we are blessed to have her back after her return from Texas.
Monica Kiamba, NA-R
Monica (Mona) has worked for Spada Homes since early 2008 and provides a tremendous amount of stability and care to our residents.
She has successfully worked with our most complex residents and has proven to be extremely kind, trustworthy and reliable.
Besides the qualifications mentioned above, Mona completed her Dementia specialty training.
She is a warm and loving caregiver - always a big smile and even bigger heart!
We consider Monica a great asset to Spada Homes and one of our key staff.
