About Spada Care Homes

My name is Joseph Spada and working in a Seattle nursing home broke my heart - and changed my life forever.

After learning geriatric care from the World-Class University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland, working in the American nursing home model was a real culture shock.

The profit-driven institutional model has too many residents, too little unappreciated and underpaid staff who never have enough time to provide quality care, or give residents the attention and consideration they truly deserve.

We are here to change that model. In fact, we have done so since 1990 in our beautiful Adult Family Homes.

Rather than institutions, we operate beautiful senior care homes in North Seattle's residential neighborhood where our elders can enjoy an excellent quality of life and care.

Residents, their families, and the staff engage in meaningful relationships built on kindness and respect. Residents are protected, nurtured and supported regardless of race, status or disability.

We improve the lives and well-being of every senior we touch through higher-quality care, excellent nutrition, and competent, kind, caring and appreciated staff.

Family members experience tangible support and peace of mind as we take on the management of care. They know we will advocate on their and their loved one's behalf even if they can't.

We give frail seniors a safe and loving HOME where they not only receive competent and loving personal care, but also - and most importantly - feel needed and cared for. Therefore, they can enjoy a meaningful existence to the maximum extent of their individual capacity.

At Spada Homes, every staff member participates and contributes to their to residents' lives in meaningful ways.

Sometimes, simple tasks such as folding laundry, making brownies, or picking herbs from our garden planters can be the most effective way to enrich an individual's life, no matter what his or her medical condition is.

It's about encouraging residents to participate in their own lives, in offering an opportunity for meaningful contribution that rewards their sense of purpose and self.

Testimonials

We felt so blessed to have our mother stay at your care home. She received such excellent care - you and your staff are wonderful!

You not only helped mom, you also helped us a great deal, and we could always rely on you answering whenever we called you.

You were a blessing to all of us. Thank you Joseph for your love and kindness, you and your wife are special people!

When we're old and need assisted care, we hope you'll have a room for us; we'll be requesting a room with bunk beds for us twins!

With Love.

We'd like to thank you and your staff again for the care you provided mother and the peace of mind that we had when she was living at Spada Homes.

Once our mother needed more care, Spada Homes became our second family. It was such a relief to know that my mom was getting 24-hr care without having to move to a large facility. The home-like atmosphere put us all at ease.

The caregivers were sensitive to individual needs, very knowledgeable, and kept us informed on mom’s well being.

We highly recommend Spada Homes and would be pleased to relay our experience to other families.
